Skin abscess is a purulo-necrotic inflammation of skin and subcutaneous tissue, empyesis after bacterial infection which enters the body when skin is damaged. Abscess is characterized with existence of cavity filled with white matter which is surrounded by pyogenic membrane. Its formation is manifestation of normal defense reaction of body.
Pyogenic membrane bounds purulo-necrotic process and prevents it from spreading. However, sometimes bacteria may spread from abscess area infecting surrounding tissue that causes panniculitis and also infect nearest lymphatic vessels and lymphatic nodes resulting in development of limfangiita and lymphadenitis.
Symptoms
Skin abscess looks like a sore formation, by touch is filled with heavy liquid. Symptoms include skin redding, inflation, painfullness, the skin is hot above it. May appear common symptoms such as body temperature increase, intoxication (appetite loss, weakness). Blood test shows inflammatory response.

Abscess diagnosis is an indication to opening of mattery cavity, its washing with antiseptic solution, drainage to let white matter go out. Also is performed antibacterial therapy .
